Couple of things to check with the fridge, obvious one is whether the thermostat on it is set too low, BUT if it's one of the evil kind with a 'drain' at the back, is the drain blocked, or was the kale up against the back?starjumper wrote: »4. Went to cook tea and got a pack of kale out of the fridge, but the kale was frozen in the fridge and ruined, it's only a pack of kale, well yes, but it also means the fridge is on it's last legs and we'll have to buy a new one soon.
My parents used to have one where the drain was ALWAYS getting blocked, and anything which came within an inch of the back of it used to freeze!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Aww bless you starjumper! I'm a grandma now and on my own (well, except for two crazy cats and a mad mutt). My house is tidy, no clothes or toys to put away. I wash up once a day cos there's so little. The washing machine is on twice a week at most. No family close enough to just pop in when they can. It's so damned quiet!
I think back to the days of having builders in, the dust, the mess. But how good the place looked when they'd finished. Of screaming babes when their comfort blankets 'went missing' and the joy of finding a replacement that calmed them. Of feeling sleep deprived then deciding when baby sleeps, I sleep no matter what time of day or night it is - after all I never found it written anywhere that it's compulsory to be awake from 7am til 11pm!
I don't have my chidren nearby, I don't have a husband any more, just this confounded quiet and all the time in the world to sit in my neat little home and reflect.
Would I do things differently if I could go back? You betcha, if I knew of a way, or someone told me. But there wasn't the luxury of being able to vent, and finding solutions on MSE back then, where there are a lot of wise words written in reply

All I can say is he's a man!! I have been married 16yrs with 2 kids. When DH gets up he makes as much noise as he can!! He says he is quiet! Over the years, when the kids were babies and toddlers I worked nights. I would be contantly woken up by little people looking for Mum, Husband mowing the lawn, etc. I would get phone calls at work about vomiting kids, what to feed the kids etc. Washing left in the machine, dirty washing on the line or tumble drier, I could go on!!!. When you are tired everything seems much worse. after a few years you just learn to put up with DH being helpful or not as the case may be!!0
