please help as i dont know where i stand on this. I have had my indesit washer for just over 12 months (literally) and it has broken, the paddles have all come off the drum all 3 of them so i had a look on indesit website and the parts were £25 each. In the end i bought them from amazon at a fraction of the cost and put them on myself (easy enough as they just clip on) all was gooduntil low and behold they all snapped off again. I therefore rang indesit customer services and they said the problem is inside the drum ...and i have 2 choices. 1. Pay £104 to fix problem guarranteed for 90 days or 2. Pay £15 per month for 12 months breakdown cover no call out fees and free parts and labour. I come off the phone having chosen option 2 and dont know wether to just cancel it and buy new washer. I just feel slightly duped as only few days out of warranty. Help!

Why is that?
It is the retailer who is responsible to you for the quality of the thing.0 -
Just to let you know that after the first 28 days, repairs are down to manufacturer not the retailerIn debt but coping:j

Are you referring to the manufacturer's own policy?
What wealdroam and dmg24 are saying is that under UK law, your contract is with the retailer and technically you should always give the retailer the opportunity to remedy the situation first.
Sometimes however the path of least resistance is through the manufacturer and sometimes, they will give a much better remedy than the retailer. However in this instance they are requiring the OP to pay money. Under SOGA (providing that the washing machine is indeed covered) any fault that is an inherent fault - and not simply the result of misuse or wear & tear - should at least be offered for a repair and any rememdy should be at no significant inconvenience to the customer. And the customer should not be out of pocket for the chosen remedy. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

check out the sale of goods act.
you will find your contract is with the retailer and when an item does not last for a reasonable amount of time you can still get them to sort it, sorry cannot remember all the details but I needed this for a faulty product when they were trying to fob me off. Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself
In the end, it's not the years in your life

thankyou to all for replys i didnt contact the retailer as i just assumed because i had had the product 12 months they would automatically refer me to the manufacturer. However as i have spoken to the manufacturer and they offered me the 2 options i dont feel able to challenge but yet i feel i am being outdone by now paying £15 a month!0
