When they do have to pay for independent legal advice from a solicitor is when someone leaves under a compromise agreement.

Sorry, yes, I was going to be made redundant, but the compromise/voluntary bit came in because we agreed I was to 'take the money and run' sooner rather than later.

You can still do that if you don't like the agreement.

It was an informal meeting after all.

Any legal comprimse needs to have legal rep.
