    Not necessarily no ... when I had this same question with an old Hyundai Accent, it turned out that the ECU was quite capable of controlling the central locking mechanism -- it was the same model but with certain features not implemented. Might be true with the Pic as well.

    I'll look into how the RCL works in higher spec models and see if I can find a write off to pillage ;)
