Why should you? They won't appreciate the effort you've put into it, asking around here etc. You say they have everything, so save your money. Or you could try buying them one of those 'non-presents', like a goat from Oxfam - that might make them think there are others in the world not as well-off as they are.

I was going to say just the same thing Margaret. My estranged niece and nephew always wanted to know how much anything my oldest son got as a present cost, as if that was all that was important - I ended up giving them vouchers or money in the end, as that seemed to be what was important, rather than the time, thought and effort that had gone into a gift.......Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
i have a xmas rule, for people who have everything, or who get something like bathsalts just to say i remember you, is get them something from a charity catalogue (pigs goats, school books etc) you get a card with details of the gift and it's benifits to give, and you can buy something the person might like themselves.
ie a basketball or can of worms (christian aid catalogue) or a pig (alternative gift catalogue) for your chav. i've found their really appreciated more than something that clutters the house and isn't needed.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
thanks everyone!! I thought it was just me being old and miserable. I had thought of a goat etc, especially as I do not intend to be there when they open it. I will check out the chav websites though in case there are some ideas i could pick up at the pound shop!
I am tempted, as others said , to get nothing but blimey that would start an even worse war than the one we start when we say we are not coming to sit in their arm chairs and drink beer whilst watching the t.v on Christmas day!! Brace yourselves!!0 -
Buy the chav a one-way ticket to brat camp.0

I liked this thread and have now decided that next year my ex niece-in-law will be getting sweet naff all next year, she is the most spoilt little brat in the world.
She gets expensive gifts all through the year and is never grateful and always wanting more.
I will give her some money this year but will be making it quite clear that it will be her last off me.
The thing that is annoying me most is that I cant afford to give my own nieces anything for christmas and really my ex husband should give to her not me.
AHHHHHHH moan over,I feel better now!
P.S to the orginal poster give the spoilt swines nowt!Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -

well i'm glad your not my sister/brother that is really horrible calling them chavs (hate that word) do you really have such low thoughts of them, if so why buy them presents, or why even associate them, obviously feel you are above them.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

I have a husband with a rather dry sense of humour who likes to send me cheeky websites to look at :rotfl:0
