I first received the letter from Trethowans on the 18th March 2011 informing me that if I had not "replyed to their letter within 7 days, then failure to do so may result in furter action being taken against me."

We are now on the 10th April 2011 and so far I have not heard anything from them........ fingers x'd!!

If you do hear from them the advice is still the same - IGNORE!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I came on this website to find out exactly what to do, so I just ignored the ticket, I then received a letter demanding payment, I replyed to this letter with a templete letter from this website

So why on earth did you bother replying to them then?

And further to that, what bearing does a reference/threat to an English case have in Scotland?

Just keep ignoring the bampots please! :)

I thought it was free parking at hospitals in scotland now, and it was only england that had to pay?
    Late reply but ...... http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/hospital-parking-charges-scrapped-in-scotland-916676.html
3 PFI hospitals still have charges due to contract issues but in the OP's case it is a free parking hospital.
