No, ebay can't make you rich, you can of course make yourself rich using ebay.
So the big question is, are you capable of making yourself rich using ebay?

Ebay is like the lottery some times you win some times you don't. A lot of sellers on here probably started of selling items from within the house that they wanted to get rid of. Ebay is better than a car boot as you hit a wider audience and do not have to get up a 3am to drive the a car boot to set up shop. Ebay runs 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Once you find your niche market then you optimise this item. It may take years to find this niche or it may happen over night. I used to make a killing in wade miniature called whimsies. I would buy them from car boot sales for pennies and sell them for over £20 all the time. Then everyone got on the band wagon and I struggled to sell for 99p. We started selling these because of a clear out when we had some lying around the house and saw the potential of them, it was nice while it lasted. So even if you find the niche there will always be other people who see the potential of it and it could even be someone that you have sold to. So as I say it is a lottery, some you win and most of the time you don't.

That's a really good point you make there.

Whilst selling on the Internet (as in Ebay Selling) can give you instant access to a large audience of potential Buyers - it also means there is a large audience of potential copiers who have instant access to your idea & if they see it doing well, can jump on the bandwagon pretty quickly.

You always need to be one step ahead of the game - which can get quite tiring - said one who is running out of ideas!!! :rotfl:

I've also found lately the price you can get for stuff (unless it's something quite unusual) - is dropping like a stone.
Has anyone else found the same?

Yep 2 many people have caught onto my idea and now everyone is doing it. But I have a little trick up my sleeve, within the next few days everything I sell on ebay will be on amazon as well. Lets see if this will make me a millionaire as everything will be listed with the 2 top sites world wide.

Some of the business sellers use dropshipping or wholesale. I dont seem to have much luck with eBay myself.

There are folks on this board who make a living from online selling :silenced: Ummmm, no, I mean, no, eBay's rubbish, best stay away from it, you'll only ever make 50p, give up now.

I am a business seller and I stay away from dropshipping as you never know when they will let you down. Then the customer gets onto you and you play piggy in the middle.
