Unlimited international mobile calls 1$/week
Signed up for a Rebtel account when I went to Spain last week.
Great! You pay 1 $ per week but only those weeks when you use the service.
For this you can talk as long as you like on the mobile.
Works to/from 30 or so countries, including UK, USA, Sweden.
You can make one test call without signing up.

I don't think it exempts you from mobile network call charges
according to the websiteYou pay your mobile operator for a normal local call. Rebtel connects you to your global friend.
What it looks like they are doing is allowing both mobiles to call a landline to make a conference call, which people might be able to arrange themselves.
Welcome to MSE, but please read the details more carefully before promoting a scheme you don't appear to have actually used0 -
Youre right, I do have to pay for a local mobile call, forgot to mention that tiny detail :-), and you are right about roaming. Thanks for sorting that out. What I did was I bought a SIM card in Spain.
But the fee to Rebtel was actually only $1 for that week although I called 4 contacts in Sweden, whereof one of them several times. Talked to their support and they said it doesn't cost more if your contacts are in different countries.
I suppose its like a conference call. Do you know of a conference service which is cheaper?0 -
Ok, now it sounds more sensible, especially if using Vodafone Spain's 60 for 1 minutes option. But
I think it would be of interest mainly to people with contact inclusive minutes, and mainly for use with contract mobiles abroad . Otherwise the local payg call charges on many networks might not enable any savings over using a callback service, or calling card use.
Calling from the UK, there are various callthrough arrangements using inclusive minutes on some networks, so perhaps it will not take off as fast here0
