Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 19th March 2011 (oops forgot this bit:(. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Good morning all,
Bright, pink-edged and very frosty here this morning. However, the forecast is good, so it looks like gardening and drying weather today.

2 DGSs will be dropped off about 8:45 and we will have a swap over later when DH takes a DGS to his parents and collects a different DGS to bring back here. Eventually DD1, SIL & DGS will get here and we will eat together. Dinner today is crusted chicken and wedges. Veggies are yet to be decided, probably hm ratatouille from the freezer and peas & sweetcorn.

Really need to do a lot of flying. If the sun shines as it is supposed to, all the fingerprints will show up:(

Hugs to all who need or want them, take care,
    Happy Saturday, Silver x

Morning silvermaid and all who follow

Been up since 5, trying to finish washing up etc before we go off - and the worktop is now EMPTY! :j Going to have a quiet breakfast before I get the babies up, and DS who's off to work.

Bit overcast here, hope we don't have rain as we'll be outside most of this afternoon. The supermoon we're having was visible here last night, fair lit up our back garden as it was so clear!

Had bad news from Sis yesterday - her dog's been a bit poorly this week, rather incontinent (out of the blue), she took her to the vet, had to go to the next town for more tests (and maybe again on Monday) and it doesn't look good. Possibly bladder cancer or Cushing's - so everyone's devastated. They've had her 12 years and I think it's going to be even worse as they've lost 2 cats to road accidents in the last year as well. Feeling a bit choked as I write, sorry to blub!

Have a good Saturday all, see you when I get back!

    A xo

Glad to see I am not the only one up at stupid o'clock Silver :)

Have been awake since 5am as DD woke early. Can't complain she feel asleep on my lap last night around 6.30pm. She seemed generally unwell but no real symptoms but it's most unlike her to fall asleep downstairs.
Anyway just typical having a ridicuously early start when I am going out tonight :(
Going for a bite to eat at local pub and then afterwards there will be some of this drink.gif and then some of this banana.gif:D

I have a kids party at 9am this morning  H is working so after the party I shall pop round to my mum and dads for a visit. I forsee a day of just pottering about, doing a bit of washing. Livin' on the edge of life :rotfl:

Will sort something out for H's tea no doubt. Need to make another loaf (can't keep up with demand!) and want to bake some brownies too for DS's lunchbox next week (and my "elevenses" too of course ;))

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

awww Cheapskate sorry about your sis's dog. Blub away, pets are family at the end of the day xx

Another night on the sofa for me last night, made hubby a cuppa & cooked breakfast at 5:30 dropping him off at the station soon as he is helping BIL with his kitchen electrics today.
I had my feet fish nibbled last night, it cost £1 a minute, but we had an offer so it was half price, it tickled a bit & my feet feel very soft today.
Plans for today include counting my money & paying some into the bank, sorting out my floordrobe & to knit some more of the summer jacket I'm making for baby DGD & sewing up jacket for bigger DGD, if I get time I may make another couple of dishcloths, probably crochet ones. I shall also make some Osetra to celebrate the Equinox.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Have fun!! I'm jealous, vertigo = no drinking and dancing :(. I really want to go out an watch the end of the 6 Nations today, but I'm not allowed to drink on meds, and can't handle crowds in dark places at moment either so I'll just stay home and watch it on my own.

It's a glorious morning here :D. Sun is shining, tide is on it's way out.
And I managed to sleep a full night last night :j first time in over a month I reckon! Feel so much better for it.

I did go for a little drive yesterday to the shops and managed it ok :). I'm debating whether to attempt a longer drive today. I have hair cut at 1pm so I could either walk to station and get train, or drive in. I'll decide later.

OS wise - DW went on overnight, WM is on now and will go on airer on balcony to dry. Need to tidy and wipe surfaces, plus clean bathroom and hoover.

    Have a great Saturday all

    Hi everyone

A bit cool here today. I have to go shopping later, a big shop, too, so I'm not looking forward to that, especially putting it all away when I get back home!

DS2 and family Skyped last night. DIL2 had a Caesarian on Wednesday; I was really surprised she was able to come home so soon but the nurses said it was because it was her second baby. When I had my eldest (almost 40 years ago!), I had to stay in hospital for ten days, the first six, you weren't even allowed out of bed. How it's all changed since then! Anyway, the baby is gorgeous - I hope they all got some sleep last night! DIL2 doesn't look as if she's had a baby and an operation - the advantage of youth, eh?

Well, I'd better go and put the porridge on.

    Have a great day, everyone.
