    Pay even if they are no good. You asked a favour of her and no doubt she was a little outside her experience buying these boots for you. I would be uncomfortable to be asked such a favour. This is one reason I don't bring duty free back off holiday (another is my reluctance to support a smoking or drinking habit.)

    No - end of.
  • gosh, why are there so many people being so mean, not to mention judgemental? The poor girl didn't ask for advice on her fashion sense. And what's all this nonsense about the sister spending half her holiday traipsing around shops and wasting her time. Maybe the sister was happy to do a favour for her sister. I know I wouldn't mind if my sister asked me.

    Plus, saving money isn't always about buying the cheapest item, it's about getting good value. Spending more money on well made quality items can be money well spent rather than the buying a cheaper alternative which packs up after 3 months and you have to spend the same again on replacing it. So people, please quit with the judging on buying 'designer' labels! Just because you might not want or have that much money to spend, doesn't make her a bad person for wanting and having the money to spend.

    And it clearly is a dilemma to her otherwise she wouldn't be asking for other people's opinions.

    I can imagine your disappointment as you were looking forward to getting your new UGG boots and now you've got to pay for something that isn't quite what you anticipated. I'm sorry that happened. Unfortunately however I guess these things might happen when you ask someone else to get something for you. I'm afraid I think you can only express your disappointment and pay up. If you really don't like them, I don't see why you couldn't sell them on as long as you're honest about what they are and the brand they are.

    Of course you should pay. Can't believe you're even asking this question!!
    Dilemma?? I think not!! Stop being so selfish/greedy!! She did you a favour;
    PAY UP!!
  • I made the same mistake I bought fake uggs by mistake but online, it was only a week after I'd ordered them that I saw a message on Martin's email about fake uggs so I checked the REAL ugh page and the site I'd bought them from was on the fake list. I never told my daughter they were fakes and she couldn't tell!! so I say to you no you shouldn't ask for your money back.
    You asked for them and she bought them in good faith why should she be out of pocket.
  • Yes you should pay for the boots.
    Your sister must have had a hard time bringing them back amongst her luggage and was probably looking forward to giving them to you. She tried hard and it was a genuine mistake that the boots she bought were fake - pay up , wear them and say a genuine thankyou very much !
  • It's an imposition giving people shopping lists when they go on holiday so you should be suitably grateful to your sister for bringing these things in her luggage at the expense of other items she could have brought for herself. Of course you must reimburse her.

    sherryf you summed up exactly what I wanted to say and probably far more articulately than I could!

    So many people scoffing at the idea of wearing Uggs, probably thinking those that do are just following fashion blindly or being snobby about the brand. Some of us don't mind how they look rather than thinking they're the best looking thing in fashion, but love getting away with wearing shoes as comfortable as slippers outside. And though I can't afford 'real' uggs, I have tried them and they are so much better, quality warmth and fit wise, than the ones I buy. If I had the money I would definitely buy them.

    With regards to the dilemma, she did as you asked to the best of her ability, it's a bit of a pain you're not getting what you expected but you should pay. Plus as someone else has said having the REAL thing from abroad is, imo, so much better than having a particular brand.

    You should pay. No question!

    If they are real sheepskin and well made, like others have said, they might be just as good, wear them anyway as they will stll do the same job, maybe better.

    It's just tough if you wanted to sell them on and now can't
