I am looking to go to Australia and just need a flight as I will be staying with friends. I need to find somewhere that is cheap but also lets me put down a deposit for the flight and then pay the ticket off, as I cannot afford the ticket outright.

£900-1400 is about the price range I am looking at paying per ticket.

I am looking to visit in December and return in January 2012.

Have a chat with agents such as https://www.trailfinders.com and https://www.austravel.com/flights , don't give them your full name until you are ready to book with them.

If you cannot get one at a decent price, then (if you can) go for a credit card with 0% for purchases and use that to book the flight direct from the airline. Make sure you pay the minimum every month, and (very important) save the money to make sure you pay it off when the time comes. If you do not want a credit card then do not use it for anythign else, and cancel it once you come back from the trip.
