Flashing avatars

Bogof_Babe
I do hope I'm not being a wet blanket, but certain avatars currently on the site are upsetting my enjoyment of reading the posts. Some are fine, like Traf's gently waving flag, but others are verging on epilepsy inducing, and I have to cover them with my hand while reading the attached post. They seem to be flickering too fast for my poor little brain to deal with, and make me feel disorientated.
Don't know if anyone else has found this. Personally I am over-sensitive even to the dustbin wagon, and have to cover my eyes or hide under the duvet while it goes round the close.
I just wondered if people could think before they select these avatars, about whether they might be upsetting to some viewers.

if you go into user cp at the top of the page (which is your profile settings) you can select to not view avatars at all.

Oh thanks mOOnie, that is brilliant. I have now disabled them, and though sadly I can't now see the trouble-free ones, at least I don't have to dodge the flashers, so to speak
.
