There was a time when this might have been written about us.

I blame multi culturalism, polical correctness, bad education and greed.

Email Will & ask him to give it a rest or get up earlier & write a proper story rather than conjure a pointless piece whilst still drunk from the day before will.heaven@telegraph.co.ukNot Again0 -
Also goes to show that you cannot rely on governments to help you in time of need.
When push comes to shove, all governments (which are ultimately ruled by the banks), don't give a f*ck about you or your family and cannot be relied upon to help you in times of need."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

I disagree - I think many in this country would put the greater good first - time for a poll?I think....0

Esther Ranzten and her ilk have a lot to answer for.Ambulance crews and paramedics refused to attend shooting scenes until areas were declared safe,But a group of men and women is voluntarily working round-the-clock to resolve the crisis, striving to save the world’s third biggest economy from a nuclear meltdown. Their beloved family members have even been told not to expect them home as Japan’s safety is the top of their priorities right now.0

There's a pretty darn big difference between treating wounded in an area with one active shooter and attempting to prevent a nuclear meltdown that could affect hundreds of thousands.0

There is a big difference. The risks facing the Japanese power plant workers were vastly greater. UK service medics in Afganistan put their lives in danger every day to go to the aid of injured people.
Thirty years ago, Ambulence crews would have made their own decisions based on prevailing circumstances. Today, their professional judgement has been replaced by a raft of procedures pouring forth from micro managing buracrats.
Here is a classic example of initiative and common sense being confounded by the jobsworths. The mistake this officer made was having a better solution than his micro managing bosses.
A policeman who played ice cream music over a Tannoy to calm a gang of unruly youths acted inappropriately, his commanders said today .

I did hear a few Japanese saying 'they told us it was safe''Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
As with all good demagoguery, this is based on a half truth, yes there are more stringent health and safety regulations, yes it arguably has gone a little bit too far, but no it doesn't indicate a loss of moral fibre.
I don't know how you'd pin health and safety on multiculturism or political correctness either, it comes from a desire not to get injured unnecessarily at work. I think that in extremis we'd all like to think we'd sacrifice our lives for the wider society, but it's a little bit more difficult than that to actually do it.0 -

but then again you and your family have benefited and will benefit from all of these which in that case your post is a very poor sound bite. never mind though...0
