At last something from the EU that we can agree with, a new law that will give everyone the "Right to be Forgotten "

Presumably you will be able to tell all those companies like Talk Talk to positively delete you from their databases and never darken your media again . Wonder if it will have teeth ? Looks as if they have got Google Streetview in their sights

...err Google will delete you from Streetview if you ask them to and have done so almost since it's inception.

Yes but you have to ask them and most people do not even know they are on there. This law will make it illegal to even retain and process the data

Seriously though, just what is the problem with streetview?
And please don't bring up burglars being able to "case" your house from their computer, mine is at least 3 years out of date!

And there's been Google satellite and Bing birds eye view for years and nobody mentioned them.

The existing DPA protects you although perhaps it's not adhered to properly. Current legislation makes it illegal to hold data on someone if you don't have good reason to do so. I doubt 'so we can spam them senseless' actually constitutes as 'good reason'. So technically, all those arses are breaking the law :)

I think most people have worked out they're on google streetview by now, surely. If only to have a look and go 'there's my car!' or 'if you look closely you can see the cat in the window!'.

It's actually quite annoying now to find places which aren't covered :p
