The Lifestylerewards section of Virgin Mobile has been updated (again!); at least we don't seem to have to load and re-load dozens of times to get it to work these days. Go to:
http://www.virginmobile.com/lifestylerewards
note the code number, and then click "Go Shopping". Click on the PAYG picture, and view all phones. They've got the Nokia 1112, the Siemens AX72 (wouldn't have it as a gift, personally, and it seems to be impossible to use with other networks) and the Sony Ericsson J100I; all at £24.99, including £15 of airtime. Place in basket, apply code that they gave you on the first page (this is not, by the way, a discount code offer - it's Virgin's way of getting people into their site), and including delivery of £2.99, it drops to £22.98 - including the £15 airtime.
The 1112 does everything I personally want in a phone. I can use it to ring people - and they can use it to ring me. Apparently, it even does something called "texting". All very exciting ;-) You still can't connect this one to your PC - my only grouse with it.
I believe it can be made even cheaper by using something called "Quidco", as well. (Bah humbug - never had it in my day. Bring back the cat, I say.)

please note though that unlike earlier models this CANNOT be unlocked for free (not even your local boot fair/market stall either )
you need to spend £30 on top-ups with virgin to get the codesEx forum ambassador

https://www.unlock123.com say they can do it for 6.95 euros - don't know if it's true; but I'll be finding out once I receive the phone. Ditto for https://www.unlockitnow.com and https://www.gsmserver.com.0

Bought the 1110 yesterday from Amazon for £19.99 inc £10 airtime (Virgin). Will I be able to unlock this one for free?0

The 1112 cannot be unlocked with a code through the keypad... Unless you know otherwise.. Beware of sites that offer a code for a few euros - they know you will not chase if it fails.0 -

Try asking here when it turns up:

I've no idea - and having looked around, it definitely looks like Browntoa may be right - lots of people saying they can unlock the 1112; but I haven't found anyone saying "Thanks, it worked a treat" as yet. I'll let you know how I get on with mine.

I don't think that you can get this via Quidco since the special code only works via the web site above
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
There is always the Nokia 1112 on Virgin for £25 after quidco plus £30 of credit http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=312821
hence a free phone plus £5 of free credit£2 Savers Club total 0 - Thank you Mrs lllnorrislll0 -

Go via Quidco and then cut and paste the above address or just the Lifestylerewards bit on the end and you'll get your cashback and the cheap price.0 -
does anyone know if you can 'port' a number at a later date (my contract doesn't expire until January) ?
cheers in advance0
