Virgin Media Broadband transfer of account holder

Options
I'm going to be moving home soon and unfortunately into an area that Virgin Media's cable service does not cover. I would like to know if it is possible to transfer the VM account to the new tenant. Has anyone had good or bad experience with this?

I haven't asked them about the transfer yet, but when I asked about options they only mentioned cancelling the contract at a £50 fee, or starting a new contract at the new address on ADSL.

I am not keen to do either of those as I wont be receiving the same service at my new address.

I doubt they'll want to play ball on the changeover but you can always ask.

Don't take Virgin ADSL - you still get the same VM support without even decent speeds as consolation.

No it's not possible,The new tennant may fail VM's credit check which they will do on any potential customer.
  • I don't know if they will allow in that circumstance, but I do know you can transfer the account to someone else, as my ex just done it for me.
It costs £20, but be careful if they do allow it, you can take the old contract over, but not at the same price. They want an extra £25 a month for a package that was costing £60 a month for my ex.
  • Thanks for the advice. It looks like the easiest and cheapest thing for me to do is cancel the account (about £50) and bear this in mind next time I'm lured by the high-speed connection.

IMO, that would be the easiest and cheapest thing to do.

It is working out just under half the price for me to go to Sky.
