Hi All, new to posting here but have been lurking since mid January when we had our offer accepted on our new flat. Just wanted to say thanks to you all for:
A) Such an awesome and helpful forum, funny at times but serious throughout.
Getting me through the most stressfull months so far in my life.
We are set to exchange and complete tomorrow, fingers crossed, subject to a couple of last minute things on the vendors side. Fortunately it has so far gone extremely smoothly which is a bit surprising as it's the first time buying for us but as there is just us moving from my parents house and the vendor moving into rented it really was the shortest chain possible.
Anyway enough rambling and good luck to everyone else trying to buy in these rough times.

Oh God, when will it be me

Really well done - glad it all went smoothly. I feel like I've been trying to move forever and we've had nowt but problems!
Don't envy you exchanging and completing on the same day though - did that with my first, and never again! My nerves couldn't take it!
Hope all goes well tomorrow
Jx2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
Thanks HazyJo, i'm sure there's still time for things to go wrong but it's all part of the rollercoaster I guess. The hardest part has been keeping the GF out of the shops! Hope things work out for you soon too.0

congratulations and hope everything goes smoothly and as stressfree as possible for you tomorrow.
heres hoping we'll be in the same boat in a few weeks we recently accepted an offer on our house and an offer we put in on the house we want has also been accepted and no chain along the line so hoping it doesn't take long. . . we've everything crossed lol0 -
Hope it goes well for you and thanks for the good wishes. Toughest part of the process is not being able to get excited about it as it really can go wrong at any stage. My GF is getting grumpy with me for my lack of jumping for joy so far but as soon as we get the keys i'll be doing a jig all the way to the new pad!!
Also i'm addicted to these boards now so will be making more use of them as we get services etc added to the property so keep us posted about your purchase/sale.0 -
We're due to exchange/complete next Thursday so I know what you mean about not getting excited! It's all a bit nerve wracking isn't it? I will be happy when we have dropped the keys off for here and go and let ourselves in to our new home, only then will I be able to breathe lol0

i know that feeling!! we want to be so happy and getting prepared etc etc but last year our sale fell through so this time i'm refraining from dancing a jig like you until everything is sorted and the keys are in our hands, will let yyou know how everything pans out and good luck again:)BottomRung wrote: »Hope it goes well for you and thanks for the good wishes. Well if your dancing is anything like mine then it's probably a good thing we reserve ourselves. :j0

Best of luck with it all!

We are in the early stages of our first time buy and are hoping it goes as smoothly as yours!

Thanks Kford, fingers crossed for you too. Just remember to stay impartial till you have the keys to try and stave off the disappointment if it does go awry!
