I phone- how long is warranty?

My Iphone has just stopped working, will not charge. Took out a 2 year contract in Dec 09, am I covered at all? Not sure if warranty is now one or two years with mobiles. Anyone know if they repair/replace phones that are still inside contract. Am I able to argue that it is no longer fir for purpose?

    AFAIK it's just 1 year.
Your airtime contract is separate from the handset.
You may try to argue, but any device is likely to stop being fit for purpose sooner or later.

You can be lucky though: 12 month warranty/ 24 month contract please comment if you have had a problem

BTW, is your signature up to date?

Correct 1 year, Apple care can be taken out within that year to extend it to two but can't be added after the initial year has expired.

Apple do some fixed price repairs too so the OP may be able to get it repaired without having to buy another but depends on the fault.

It may simply need a reboot - ensure it is docked to your PC for a few hours. Then, press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons for TEN seconds continuously. This should reawaken it.
  • Thanks to everyone for help. Spoke to Apple and they got me to do exactly what Buzby said. Phone has powered up ok, son just need to put code in to check everything working ok.
