Car Hire in Madrid - Credit Card issue

Does anyone out there know of any hire car companies at Madrid-Barajas airport that accepts a VISA DEBIT card as the security deposit for the excess.
I am going there for a couple of days with my mother and brother at the end of March 11. Last year I managed to pay off the credit cards I had and kept one and asked for the credit limit to be lowered to £250.
I never really thought that I'd need to hire a car - at least in the UK - but common sense now dictates that I will need one in Madrid as my mother does not like walking far and my brother had a hip operation last October and is still walking with one crutch. The trip was a last minute thing for us after a rubbish year.

So... 1) I have a Visa Debit card 2) I have a credit card with a low limit which will not cover the excess deposit for car rental companies due to the £250 limit, and of course 3) I'd have the cash as a last resort.

I saw an interesting thread dating back to late last year when some people were asking the same question but they needed car rental in Murcia I believe it was. Some car rental companies were mentioned that allowed debit cards - Goldstar, Sol-Mar, Fastcarhire( I emailed Fasthire but they have not responded as yet), valuerentalcars.... unfortunately none of these companies covers Madrid... other areas in Spain but not this one.
I have also tried Avis (Visa debit allowed in France, UK but not Spain), CarHire3000, National Car Rentals.....
No joy...

I was hoping for a car so that I could drive them to Avila and stay in the countryside

Oh and I phoned up my credit card company (with the now low limit) to ask them to increase it... and they say no which surprised me as I have always paid them off .... oh well!
