Kitten not eaten her food tonight and is sleeping...

Hope I can get a little reassurance here!
3 weeks ago we got two 4 month old kittens. They have been fantastic and settled really well and quickly. Tonight, one of the kittens has not eaten her dinner and retreated to her bed to sleep. She ate her lunch fine at 12.30 but I wondered if this is because she had her 2nd innoculation yesterday and it is a delayed reaction. She seems a bit off colour and not running around like a crazy thing as usual. Could it be fussiness? I have changed their food over (very slowly intergrated) from james wellbeloved to whiskers kitten ... There was a bit of hairball/sick in the kitchen this morning too.
Anyone have any advice???
Thanks in advance.

I expect it is the jab that is causing the problem, but if she's not herself by morning - or she looks unwell tonight - I'd give the Vet a call to put your mind at rest.
My kittens were both sleepy after their jabs, but nothing puts them off their grub! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

I alway keep my kittens / cats in for a day because the vaccinations can cause drowsiness - I've heard of cats being run over soon after vaccs - I have also seen small kittens poorly if you included the leukemia in the vaccination too.
I'm sure they will both be fine in the morning. Keep an eye on the litter tray and if still not eating, hot chicken normally does the trick...Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

Thank you for the responses. She doesn't seem any better this morning. I am going to get her to the vet this afternoon I think. She is very listless and refused food again.:(Just keep passing the open windows.0

Poor thing, might the vaccs. Just a question but why would you change from james wellbeloved to whiskas when jwb is a far superior food? Whikas is like eating macdonalds everyday loaded with very little proper meat and added colours and flavours. Maybe feed jwb and as a little wet treat some whiskas it will keep them healthier in the long run
If they are long haired you do need to brush them daily to prevent hairballs too
Good luck and I hope kitty feels better soon0 -
Thanks for the update, probably the vacs.
Let us know how you get on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I have just come back from leaving them this morning at 10.30 to two big stains of sick and a little piece of sellotape in the middle of one of them!!!!
She has now eaten a tiny bit of food but is looking so sorry for herself! (gone straight back to jwb too)
Should I keep the vet appointment still?
All opinions welcome!!Just keep passing the open windows.0 -
I would say yes, for definite.0

Why not just give them a ring, then you may not need to take her at all/

I would take her back to the vet to be sure. They can take her temperature at least to see if she has a fever or something.
Be prepared for the vet to deny that vaccinations ever have any bad side effects though - they always say this - they don't want to put people off and reduce their profits!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
