Thinking about the whole line rental, home phone, broadband and maybe even sky tv package.
OH currently gets the orange unlimited broadband free with his mobile phone contract but that is about to come to an end. I do find our internet access a bit dodgy at times, dunno if its the phone line or orange. We use the internet a lot.
I pay £22.50 for sky, don't have the sports channels. My mobile phone contract is not up for renewel for another 7 months. We have a home phone which we rarely ever use, I suppose the only times i use it are for the freephone numbers that we get charged for on the mobile and the occasion o870 number i suppose ot whatever. We tend to pay our bill as it arrives, not on dd. Usually only ever about £1 in call costs the rest are all charges. So really not looking for massive inclusicve call allowance.
Is there a site I can search to get the best deal? Or does anyone have a deal they can recommend.
Also slightly confused about the phone line rental bit, if I go away from BT do I still have to pay them some money for the phone line? I don't undertsand all that lark really, as don't they provide the line etc etc!
i look forward to some help, sorry if this type of thing has been posted before!

Check first if your exchange has Sky/Easynet as an LLU ISP.
Use Samknows exchange search.
If it does you will be able to get Sky broadband unlimited, and Sky Talk for £7.50 plus line rental (I would stay with BT, but its your choice)That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
It says LLU and ADSL. And says Sky and talk talk for operator presence with C&W/bulldog end may 2011.
Why would you stay with BT? Is it because I still would have to pay BT something?Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
You have a choice of paying line rental to BT or Sky.
If you pay it to Sky they will transfer your telephone as well as your broadband to their network.
If you get fed up with either Sky as an ISP or telephone provider in the future you would have to move back to BT before you could transfer to any other provider( Which could cost money)
In addition, whoever you pay for the service its BT OpenReach engineers who will repair any faults on your line.
If you are with BT you go directly to them, if you are totally with Sky do you think they will assign any priority to your problem?
Just my cynical view I guess. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thanks for that, didn't relaise if I came away from someone else I would have to go back to BT and poss pay for that!
Oh well, will have to look at options!Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
A return to donor is free, but does require you to take 12m line rental contract with BT.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

are there any that let you do less than 12 month line rental contract?
i am only living in this place for 6 months.0 -
Stay put & use the BT line for calls (see Heinz calling plan), Orange Simply Broadband is now £10 for upto 20MB speed as a Orange customer instead of the free broadband (ADSL MAX) thats BT's 21st Century product not ADSL max so a upgrade from Orange retentions may do the job and then move your broadband over to the new plan - all Orange broadband is more stable as its BT that runs ALL the Orange Broadband network
I'm till on the £5 Broadband Unlimited with calls to 100 international landlines so me to move for higher speed means my bills would go up big time, your on FREE Orange broadband but £10 a month is a good deal http://shop.orange.co.uk/broadband/compare-all or another few quid will get you o2 broadband with line rental still with BT on thier 12 month ALL ROUNDER package
Pay £120 upfront for BT line rental for the year, free 0870 calls at the weekend
I really dont see Sky being good value with broadband and calls personally
As a FREE Orange Customer you maybe able to move across to the £5 Broadband Unlimited as that was your choices when signing up, Unique/UMA/signalboost customers were able to sign up for £5 Broadband Unlimited 8MB even when discontinued to the publicSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
