I've decided not to use it at present, as much of my ad hoc spending either occurs on a separate credit card, or after I've withdrawn cash.

I am merrily playing around with mine this morning and I really like it now. It's really good. It looks like you can change the automatic categories if you prefer to categorise it elsewhere.

The annoying things I have found so far is that it schedules some payments as monthly when they are really 4 weekly (Sunday Times outgoing DD) and incoming tax credits. That is very annoying on the calendar of anticipated payments. You need a 'four weekly' option, even if we have to reassign that ourselves.

I like that we can add on events to the calendar.

I don't know if we can, but I would like to be able to override some of the anticipated payment dates. It seems to think my mobile bill is due on 9th June when actually it's the 7th of the month. It must have picked it up from a previous transaction when it came out late due to the weekend or something. Trouble is, if, like me, you're anal enough to use it then you want it to be exactly right, lol.

It's definitely better than when I last looked at it. I shall play around some more.

Now the other thing that is really annoying is that my landline and gas/elec direct debits are set up as quarterly on their system but the payments are taken monthly (ie Lloyds are allowing payments to go through monthly despite the dd specifying quarterly; it's a niggle because actually as far as I am concerned the payment should be monthly). I have raised this previously with Lloyds who say that it is up to the company to change it. How am I going to explain the situation to get the company to change it without running the risk of the payment being completely mucked up. Anyway it's annoying because my projected income and outgoings for these categories show a quarter of what they should be for the next year.
Still great that there is the potential to have all this so readily available though with relatively little effort.

I'm not overly impressed with the setup but I tend to scrutinise my expenditure to a greater degree; there are a few kinks to iron out regarding classification and editing of categories but it ticks a box. A positive step for LTSB and other banks with appalling service and customer interaction, such as Barclays should pay close attention.

The nicest element of Money Manager is the annual review options.

Well done to LTSB and no doubt the kinks will be worked out in the not too distant future.

Nearly a year in and on last year's outgoings I'm £4000 + out of synch, since I've paid via creditcard for almost everything I can - and then settled up at the end of the month.
  • I find it annoying. It doesn't even pick up my partners salary so effectively we are over spending every month. I have a savings goal which I want to delete but for the life of me cant work out how to remove it! The calender shows amounts going out and coming in, on the right days but for the wrong amounts...

Its a shame because it could be really good.
  • I like the idea of savings goals but you have to have a savings account with them. I'm using the vantage accounts to save, so may be they could look at allowing this in money manager?
  • Ha! I see the confusion already where your spending is doubled by counting cc purchases and payments of that cc from a LTSB account. Simples  Just leave LTS's current account and pay from there! Shame LTSB have not considered that otherwise they might have corrected the fault ;)
