I would expect even a cheap winter tyre would be better than a decent normal tyre in the cold, wet and snow.

Going back to this old thread ... I've been offered some very cheap Sunny SN3830 tyres which are basically unused for a very low price.

A good number of 'consumer' reports here, make of them what you can.

Bear in mind that some of those submitting reports can't work out the 'star' ratings, ie, they give a low rating but say they'd buy again and vice versa, so keep an open mind..;)

For this reason I shall be purchasing my winter tyre's (for next year) some time in the middle of May/June

I bought 4 secondhand decent brand winter tyres on eBay for just under £80, and when I got there I was given a 5th for free

They need swapping from the Mercedes steels when I get the last extra wheel I've been accruing for my Citroen, and look they're had about 1 or 1.5 mm wear on one pair and the other pair might even be unused.
