Hi, new to this, but I have an iPhone 3g on orange and the new apple update has excluded the 3g from it, meaning the iPhone 3g no longer receives any updates from apple. Will this give me any glimpse of hope in regards to sneaking out of my contract or is it just wishful thinking?

More than wishful thinking!
Your contract is for your network connection / minutes etc. not the phone.
To be fair Apple keep their phones more updated than almost any other hardware manuafacturer and on balance the 3G is quite old now.0 -
oh, well thanks for the reply.
it's just this phone is just so obsolete it barely works and have 9 or so months left....:(0 -
Your own fault for taking out a long contract on an old phone, nobody else's.0

It is so slow, apps crash and takes ages to do simple tasks like make phone calls or write text messages. ah well, my own faultrustybucket wrote: »Barely works? My 3G is still going strong.

3g should still work fine have you contacted your network operator to check your settings , how full is the phone ,have you thought about factory reset ,or dropping to an earlier version of os i have just legally purchased the 3gs would not spend the money on a iphone 4 , its not on contract and when the updates stop from apple there are alternative options available for the osjockeywockey wrote: »It is so slow, apps crash and takes ages to do simple tasks like make phone calls or write text messages. ah well, my own fault
