Never flown to Turkey before. Looking at MAN to DLM, 18 July 2011 for 7 nights, one hold bag, no overnight flights

Checked on Skyscanner and best price is currently with Jet2 at £240 with good flight times, which I prefer. (Dep 09.30. Ret 17.00)

Any regulars make this trip? Any thoughts as to whether this might go substantially lower, is it a route that regularly offers deals?

I can wait for another 6 weeks or so, but not too long as have specific plans in mind which I need to book up too.

Thanks for any insight.

Do you think this flight will be popular amongst families going on their summer holidays?
If not compare the price with a likely more popular date and assess the price difference, if any.

Thanks. Rare I travel in July and August these days!

Hmm! It's the week before schools break up here at least, however people will poss take the kids out of school for the last few days, so yes it could be popular.

Similar flights, the following week coming up at £312 with TC.

If you're really looking to push the price down, Easyjet fly to Istanbul (cost me £26), and you can take a bus / train / internal flight to the resort towns...

  • We very rarely fly direct to Dalaman in the summer months, as the prices are so high.

We fly from either stansted or gatwick and fly into Istanbul and then on to Dalaman as an internal flight. However, I notice that you have said you do not want night flights, so assume you wouldn't want any hanging around. The disadvantage to the split flight is that there is usually a 4 to 6 hour wait at Istanbul.

We are not able to use Jet2.com, as they do not fly down here, but my sister is considering flying out to Turkey in July from Scotland. The flights were £52.00 each before taxes 2 weeks ago and are now over £100, so you do not want to hang around too long.

Have a look at Monarch and Thomas Cook before you make a decision.

    Thanks all for input.

having checked the other options, I have booked flights today with Jet2 at £246 (with £4 back from Quidco!!)

Needed to book exact dates and whilst I am often flexible on timings and travelling with hand baggage, for this trip I wanted to take a hold bag and have easy flight times, since I am working up to the night before the flight and back at work pretty well straight after!

Given the circumstances, I am happy with this price and whilst I might be tempted to take a little peek at price trends (for future reference only of course) there'll be no regrets!

Can't wait now, Olu Deniz on google image looks fab!
