In a week or so, Im having exactly the same kitchen fitted.

After searching for weeks I found just what I wanted in Direct Tile Importers.

    4" square, riven effect. matt

white, mid grey and black, and we will build up a pattern on the wall. Your kitchen looks exactly like mine too.

in the shop they looked absolutely brilliant and will go with my black worktops and white cupboards.
I only wanted just under 3 sqm so they were about £65 all in.

Im sure they will have a website.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Thanks McKneff they do have a website but it doesn't seem to have an online catalouge and there isn't a branhc near me. I will give them a call with the tile name you give and see if they will post a sample. Cheers.

Ormus think we would like to go with a contrast to the floor tiles as the walls will be painted a light color but I will give them a try as well cheers.

I know monochrome is "in" at the moment but gosh, in my opinion that needs some colour.

Have you got any coloured things around you could use tiles to tie in with? We only really see one bit of the kitchen...

I would consider a terracotta, or a warm brown - I'm generally a fan of primary colours but the problem is that red, blue or green will probably wash out the area around it.

If you're tiling anyway could you nab a few sample paints and test some colours out?

We have tried brownish tiles with the units they don't look right. We were hoping to add color with a red kettle and toaster.

We were going to paint above the units red but the room is small so the light colors reflect the light much better.

Will get plenty of samples and see if we can add some color :-)

Colour schemes are not my forte and I often look at how displays are presented in brochures/web sites for ideas.

I like the units and contrasting tops. I would continue this theme with the tiles by using say 200mm x 100mm bevel edge tiles laid in a stretcher bond (brick) pattern using either cream or white as the main tiling, with a row of black to repeat the contrast provided by the tops.

Red small appliances would look great against this background. This is only my 'blokey' opinion though.

    Hi Dave,

Checked the boxes at home at lunchtime

The name on the box is MARAZZI

3 shades of grey, very light, mid, and granite colour.

There are also numbers on the boxes but I presumed they were shade codes.

I know how yu feel, we looked at literally thousands of tiles.

Then there was the floor, we scoured North Yorkshire, came home and found some only about a mile away and virtually on our doorstop.
    Good luck.
