Wednesday 16th March - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T
Morning folks! I've decided to give in to the insomnia today and get up instead of just lying in bed hoping to go back to sleep - although 5.00am was a bit too early to start us off
I had thought about putting an hour or so into the sewing room, but the machine might wake DH so came and did paperwork instead. Working out costings is so difficult - what is a reasonable hourly rate for labour???
Listy things so far:

Listy things so far:

- checked for surveys
- made lunch to take to work
- researched materials prices and drawn up price lists for products
- feed and water the chickens and ask for four eggs today
- do an hour overtime each side of the day
- possibly a half an hour overtime midday too
- drool over house pics my friend sent - I really want this cottage and it's only £300 pcm!!!
- try to persuade DH to pay for a splash of diesel as I have NO money to spare
- have dinner from stores
- try to have an NSD - unless I end up putting diesel on CC

Morning all,
Stitchy, thanks for starting the thread today
Today I have/will
• Will try for a NSD - bought lunch and snacks
• Re-activated my online banking (again) so checked budget, and moved spare cash into high rate saving account
• Checked how much I have in my savings account and ensure that I am on target for my contribution to a new roof at the end of the month (should be ok, if I do not spend any more this month…so treats are out of the question)
• Gym after work – must go, even if hubby doesn’t fancy it….Candy needs to get more motivated and so p’d off with weight issues (as Candy is not my name, I feel that I can speak in the 3rd person)
• Meals from storecupboard
• Used railpass to get to work
• Charge phone at work later
• Read newspaper online
• Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
• Enter comps online
• Washing on a quick wash 30 degrees
• Will read the thread tonight when I get home
Have a great day everyone

Definitely not a no spend day for us either.
OH has his dentist appointment today (just a check up)
need to put petrol in car
need to get OH's nephew a B'day pressie n card, (pressie half price in Argos (costs less than allotted £10 spend, saving 4.01 also used TCB site)
Also need some bread, though i'm seriously wondering about starting to make the bloody stuff lol,
Had a clear out of some of our cupboards last night, the amount of half opened stuff that had gone to waste was shockingBut also made me realise how bleeding empty our cupboards were after, but least i can see whats in them lol.
I have main incredients for at least 5 meals, its just getting a few odd bits, (thats tomorrow though)
making up some double choc chip cookie dough stuff had in the cupboard for a while. (need something to keep the daughter happy and not get on my nerves today)
Will be checking online Balances
Posting Signed form to payplan.
Other half actually said last night he's considering cycling to work a couple of days a week, no 1 he's getting a gut on him, and 2 it will cut down the cost of petrol, we're currently spending approx £90 a month, and we only have a 1.25 fiesta. Although saying that Since getting the car serviced at the end of last month, the car has been doing better on fuel!0 -
Morning all, didn't get round to posting yesterday, had a very busy day but also very productive! Today is very overcast here but not raining thank goodness :T

made sandwiches x 3 for dinner
Off to work soon for the day  loads to do then more ironing later. Definately not a NSD for me today, veggie box came at 0523 this morning (got a very strange look off the man who came to deliver! Don't think he sees many people at that time in a morning!! :rotfl::rotfl:) and also bedsheets gone to be ironed (this is my little treat I love ironing just not sheets!!)
Hope you all have a great day0 -

Greetings, all!
Last day at work before heading to Scotland for my friends wedding. Today is also really a non NSD day for me... money hemorrhage!
You'll notice that I've updated my sigy with my next long term project... saving up for a little one bed of my dreams in New York
Today I:- will walk to work
- see if I can get a contract out of HR, a bit like getting blood from a stone!
- have photographed the wedding present (its bulky so not bringing it with me to Edinburgh, will give it when we all get back
- will print picture at boots
- will buy wedding card
- will buy very small amount of makeup - I dont own any at all! Advice please - do I want lipstick that matches my dress or should it be a bit off so its not too matchy? Dress is a blue-ish red. Help me, ladies!!!
- leaving work early to get more shots done
- OH took my summit club card from the Kathmandu shops so that should give him a discount on his new coat
- crochet in evening and pack for tomorrow!
- lunch out with collegue so unfortunately not taking in anything - but will mine her brain on things for my new job
- see if AMEX accepted me - they couldnt give me an instant answer but said they would email me with a decision
- check banking and update budget
Have a good day, all!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Happy hump day!
Im off to London today for work, so 2 hours there and back. also means no nsd, coffee on the train is my little treat, though sometimes I do take a flask. I did buy a smaller coffee than normal today though, and used my bite card, so not totally un-mse!
Actually, for anyone that travels by train I'd say a bite card is a must! It gives you 20% off food and drink at certain outlets, is totally free and a great way of bringing down the cost of that treat!
Today I have/will
Had breakfast at home (also got some muesli to try in mr a last night)
Bought smaller coffee and used discount card
Library book to read
Will chase expenses today as receipts not received yesterday (had to send photocopies as they got lost)
Will get my letter regarding new pay and bonus today so will rework budget tonight, hoping to be able to put a chunk away each month towards Christmas (Christmas seems to be my downfall every year, I start with such good intentions and then end up putting everything on my card, vicious cycle)
Bonus is all earmarked for cc payment (though if I get more than a certain amount I want to keep a little back for new coat and haircut)
Oh will pick me up from the station
Dinner when I get home
That's all for now, I've come to the conclusion that my London days tend to cost a bit more, though i can outweigh this by being extra good on non London days. It's still not perfect, and probably not he best mindset, but it feels more productive than beating myself up.
Does this make sense?
I feel like I can't change everything at once, but if i can just try and get into the habit of making good choices I'll get there eventually?
Have a good day guys
