Really pleased with EBICO
I got my first bill from Ebico at the beginning of November and was really pleased because although it was estimated, it was only a bit over (worked out about £30 in total), which I thought isn't a bad thing going into the winter.
It was so simple and easy to follow - no stupid two tier system! I just wrote out a cheque and put it in the post very happy in the knowledge that I don't have to worry about direct debits being hiked up and messed around with all the time.
It's just nice to feel in control for a change.
As a matter of interest I just did a comparison to see how much I could save going elsewhere for gas and the best saving I could make is £27 per annum - certainly not worth it!

Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

Same here Melbury, might start phoning in monthly readings.0

who does the meter readings ?
I want to switch my parents to them (from BG) and am attracted to them as low price for quarterly cheque payers.
My parents won't be able to read meter themselves so do Ebico regularly send meter readers or rely on estimates and customer readings.
Can't find any mention on Ebico website0 -
They do send meter readers every quarter to take the readings, elektra.
I've been with them for 18 months and have nothing but praise for Ebico .0 -
Thanks cheapychappy. Think I 'll start the switch then probably for myself as well as parents. Although won't be able to switch parents Electric yet as BG can't get the bill correct.0

I've been with Ebico 11 months and I've had 2 elec meter readings but no gas readings. However, the gas meter is inside so they may have called when I was out.
Can I suggest you check their meter reading for them once or twice a year just to keep things on track.
Regards

Maybe you can read the meter for your parents, set up the online access and provide Ebico with readings ... as long as your parents are happy for you to do this.0 -

Yes, I do read the meters when I am there. They are down low in a cupboard so not easy to get to. BG have not read the 2 elec meters in about 2 years and even now when I am disputing the bill since a meter change in July they have not bothered to send anyone.0 -

Do they? My first bill was estimated by them and I thought from everything I have read on this site that you just contact them with the reading each quarter, or pay the estimated bill.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
From my experience of being with Ebico for 18 months , a meter reader has called regularly every quarter without fail.0

I send my meter readings on-line just before the invoice due date. Although their pricing is so straight forward I can work out the cost myself before the bill arrives.
