Having worked for Phones4U.....
Avoid Phones4U like the plague, the company is owned by Caudwell Communication, a evil company that only cares for profiles and not the consumers.
Phones4U staff are trained to sell 'phones of the day' or 'extra stock' NOT the phone that fits the person. The staff get very high cash bonuses for selling the select model / tarrif.
The aftercare is appauling, basically they dont care as soon as the sale has finnished as they are not getting any more money from u, the vouchers are a pain to use and not really worth the hassle.
Sorry to be so negative but thought u should know.0 -

And they supply the phones for Tesco0 -
I bought my first mobile from Phones4U, 4 years ago and they are linked into Singlepoint. Caudwell is not a great company, customer service or for working for them (my friend hated working there). I still have a contract with Singlepoint and I have renewed my contract for the last 4 years.
And they do deals when you walk in. It would greatly help if you knew what phone you wanted. Get that sorted first. You have to walk in and say, I want a Nokia 3434 or whatever and say "What can you do for me?". And push for a good deal.
They will give you more discounts, if you take their 3 months free insurance. Take the insurance and then cancel it whenever. Immediately or after 2 months.
And ask them to throw in the handsfree and leather cover and all the accessories you want. They will, if you keep pushing them.
I got 3 great deals from them for me and my friends, especially when you buy a new contract. And try small town / small city outlets. They don't bother selling a lot in Central London and outer london shops are better for bargaining.
Hope this helps. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. :rolleyes:0 -
Vodafone bought the service provider, they do all the billing, Singlepoint way back in August 2003.0

I used them in September. I was due an upgrade & O2 shop were useless so I went in there. I looked about & saw the tarif & phone I wanted, then the guy sat me down asked me some questions & recommended the same phone & tarif I had in mind anyway, so I was happy.
Went home, called O2 to cancel existing contract & they offered me double bundles & free txts for a yr if I stayed with them (even though my new contract from Phones4U was with O2). So I stayed with O2 cos it was a better deal & I was keen to keep my number. They advised me that I could return other phone & xl contract within 14 days.
Went back to Phones4U, lied through my teeth & told them I didn't like the phone & that O2 were holding me to my contract for a month. Phones4U guy asked if I would speak to his manager, I thought 'here we go, send in the heavys' but manager sat down & asked if there was anything they could do to make me stay with them? Could they pay for my other contracts line rental, give me free stuff... I was tempted but decided not to be greedy & just stick with O2, thanking them for their good service & telling them I would recommend them over O2 anyday.
My general experience of mobile phones comps is that they ALL trip overthemselves to get new business/keep old business, but if something goes wrong in the interim period, no one want's to know!! (Ok I'm bias, see my Problems with O2 thread!)0 -
I posted about Phones4U. I returned my mobile to them as it developed a fault. The mobile cost me £160. i have been without a phone now since 1st Feb. They have lost my mobile and am still waiting for them to sort it out. They said as a gesture of goodwill they will replce it but they have failed tothis so far!! I intend to write to them giving them 7 days to sort it or I will issue County Court proceedings. It's the only I know of getting a replcement mobile plus compensation.0
