    Actually Esqui, KnowHow now has Apple's permission to repair Macs/Macbooks/Pro's and is a AASP.

    I think Comet do it too with certain goods. Like washing machines for example which have a 1 year guarantee. Buy a Hoover washing machine from Comet and they'll send out their own engineers to repair it rather than Hoovers. I guess it's cheaper for them to provide the service themselves.

    That's a change then. Long time back I used to work for Servis. Comet would pass guarantee calls to us.

    They also kept machines that they had accepted as returns in their warehouse and when they had enough of any given make (washing machines, tumble driers, dishwashers etc) they would call for one of our engineers to work through them. Then they'd place them back in store discounted as refurbished.
