Anyone else having issues with Natwest??

Hi There,
I was supposed to recieve a BACS transfer into my account on the 21st of November but it didnt arrive.
After a week I phoned Natwest to ask what was going on, they said they had some computer issues and there was a backlog but is should go in within the next few days.
Another week later and still no money, so I phoned natwest again and got the same excuse. I complained that I had not recieved any letter from them and I was told they would send another copy immediatley.
After another week or so still no money!! So yet again another phone call to Natwest they said they could see the transfer but it was still in a queue and I was promised that it would be in my account by Today.
Well Today has arrived and no money!! So just been on the phone to them again I said I did not believe there excuses about the system being down it has been nearly a month!! I asked if they have had some sort of security breach or data loss but suprisngly they dont comment on such matters
I personally believe that they have lost data from my account that they cannot recover, they claim to have sent 4 letters and I have not recieved a single one, I even got them to send copies to my parents house and again nothing arrived.
In addition to the above I can also not access my account any more using online banking, it just says the details entered do not match my file, I even reregistered and it said you will recive any new password in the post and once again I have recieved nothing.
I have today cancelled the BACs transfer and I have sent it to another account instead, I also phoned natwest and have asked for my account to be closed as I beleive waiting for over a month for a BACS transfer is shere incompetance on there part and I no longer trust them to look after my money.
Anyone else having issues with there natwest account at the moment?

My daughter tried to get copies of her missing bank statements for three months. Every single day the system was down. I wonder how they make any money?

I have had several problems with Natwest dating back over the past year, including Direct Debits that we cancelled in branch being re-set up by them and not transferring Direct Debits over from a single account to a joint account.
September/October just made me have enough and I have now moved banks.
I got married in August and changed my name over with the bank, they sent me a new joint account card and also one for my own account, however it was a Solo Card and not a Maestro Card so I had no idea what the PIN would be (PIN should have been the same as my old card)
Also my husband went into the bank to draw out £470 and was refused because his signature didn't match the one on file. However they took my signature as proof and it was discovered that my new signature had been entered twice onto the account and my husbands had been removed.0 -
I'll buck the trend and praise Natwest! Constantly high service for the last ten years. Fair enough they don't pay the best rates but the local branch to me is always very efficient and the CS is UK based which has to be applauded.0

Thank you,we try our best in our branch too, our customers obviously appreciate us too as we get sweets and biscuits from customers on a weekly basis. It makes a lovely change to here people praising bank staff, we do our best under the circumstances that we work under.Phoenix79 wrote:I'll buck the trend and praise Natwest! I bank with Natwest and have never had a problem, my DDs to Icesave go through no problem. I also went into my branch for rhe first time in I don't know how long to deposit a cheque (£1250 tax rebate!) and the staff were lovely. I do think the cashier to desk ratio of 8 to 2 was a bit off considering the size of the queue though having all those empty counter spaces just highlighted the lack of staff - I know this isn't the cashiers' fault though and there were a load of older ladies talking about everything but banking t the cashiers which really held though queue up! I suppose this is the same in most/all banks now though.

I work for a bank too (although not in a branch and not in personal banking) and rather than bank with them which would probably be easier, I have kept Natwest as my main account.
I don't mind who i use for loans and credit cards as effectively the money isn't mine anyway but in terms of savings and current accounts I always go for good CS (UK based of course) over the highest rate and the latest 'flavour of the month'. I guess I take after my family in that respect who have always banked with Natwest and had savings etc with Nationwide.0 -
To be fair the natwest staff are generally helpfull, but a month of waiting for a BACS transfer using computer issues as an excuse is unacceptable.
I am really concerned that a data breach has occured that they are not telling me about, only last week nationwide admited that a laptop containing account numbers was stolen back in august!!
Are companies obliged by law to tell the customer if a data breach occurs?0 -
i work for natwest, and spent 6 years dealing with customer complaints so none of this is new to me!
when you say you are having a problem with this bacs transfer, is a transfer in to your natwest acct, or are you transferring out of natwest, that will enable me to help you
thanks0
