Free or cheap mobile deals by redemtion

Greetings,

Seen a few of these free or very cheap mobile deals by voucher redemption, How do they do these deals? surely there must be a catch somewhere.

Most are 12 month contracts but you get most of your cash back by cheque.

Mobile phone retailers get paid commission by service providers like O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone etc. The commission could go as high as £360 per contract signed. And on top of that, if they hit a certain quota, they may get bonuses as well. Furthermore, most redemption deals are for low-end phones matched with high-end contracts.

Personally, there is no catch if you are disciplined enough to send back all the voucher with the correct bills. This is provided that the company don't go bust or disappear before they pay you all the cashback. I would recommend you go for more stable companies like CPW or phones4u. At least they won't disappear without a trace tomorrow!
