talk talk what a shambles

i recently had the pleasure of been with talk talk for 4 days ive just contacted them to cancel my contract as the service i was recieving was shocking left my previous provider as prices had doubled but was getting 4mb gone to talk talk was getting .5mb my question is i asked for a mac code and they said i didnt need it as they would disconnect me on friday if they disconnect me will i need to pay say sky or bt to be reconnected can they do this?

If you are on a TT LLU service then you may find that you cannot go direct to any other LLU service-you have to take your line back to BT on a return to donor first. This is free, but requires a 12m line rental contract. Once you are back on BT then you can apply for the ISP of your choice.
Sky is the only provider who may be able to transfer you direct, so check with them first. Is Sky available LLU on your exchange? If not, don't bother, as you will be on the dire Sky Connect service.
