I bought some heating oil on 1/10/10 and i have just rang up our local oil company to find out it has gone up about £65 since last time which I was gobsmacked.
Does anyone know does the heating oil prices go down with the warmer weather coming and when do they put their prices down

Presumably you don't run a car, or you would have noticed that the price of motor fuel has also gone up somewhat since October, along with all other oil-based products? I wouldn't expect any major fall in price in the near future, quite the opposite. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Seeing as we are reliant on the middle east for our oil - don't be holding your breath0 -
Paid 64p a litre in January, it's been as low as 54p since then. Whats the per litre price you've been offered?0

No significant reason why heating oil would go down much in the summer, as the summer is peak demand season for diesel and jet fuel, which both come from the same pool as heating oil.
Gasoline demand goes up too, further eating into distillate (heat/derv/jet) supply.
I need to buy a little bit too. The Japan thing may cool prices a bit in the short term, but don't hope for too much, the Middle East is looking distinctly unstable.0
