By the way there goes trouble can you pm me your address I need to bunny nap yours they are adorable!

LOL, sadly it's an old picture and all of them are now gone. I have one rabbit left (not in the picture, he came later) and he's old, I won't be getting any more when he goes as I can't afford it. As I'm sure you'll understand, rabbits are not the 'cheap pets' people believe them to be (especially when 3 of the 5 needed regular dentals for malocclusion, and one had a mystery illness which was never resolved even after every test under the sun!!!)

I did love my bunnies though. Dylan (the brown and white dutch) was the friendliest rabbit I ever met. If I lay on the grass he would come and groom my eyebrows!! I was gutted when I lost him to an upper jaw abcess which ended up behind his eye and eventually went back into his brain. Stupid previous owner hadn't cared for him properly and his teeth were a mess when I got him. Annie (the small brown nethie) had also had an abcess behind the eye, she lost the eye but lived a few years without it. She alway lay in between two other rabbits like in the 2nd picture, and if they were just sitting around she always kept another rabbit on her blind side.

There is so much info saying that male bunnies cannot get on but the same can be said about females or mixed pairs. The most important thing is neutering and the bunnies personalities. Boys can be tricker granted but not always impossible, sometimes it just need patience.

Absolutely agree with this. It took 6 months to bond my two brother rabbits with Dylan my dutch, I'd actually given up but left them next to each other. One day I was careless when cleaning out and Dylan jumped into the boys run.... my heart stopped for a second.... and they all started grooming each other!! Dylan had previously failed to bond with a neutered female dutch rabbit.

    I'm sorry to hear that.

Yes they can be incredibly expensive. I've 11 in total and though I can get most things in bulk and save a lot there, vet fees are expensive. I love dutchies, my dutch is the most laid back bunny of the lot, which is fortunate as he has a long term illness so its good he tolerates having his daily medication so well.

I don't think people realise quite how sensitive bunnies are. They need a lot of care and even with the best will in the world dental and tummy issues are very common and can be quite complicated issues.

I run a hopper group for the Rabbit Welfare Association in my local area so I'm hoping I can get a few members and go out and tell people what keeping bunnies is really like.
  • My two boys (brothers) are coming up for 1 year old and have been together since they were born. They never fight, and are constantly next to each other! They were apart for one night when Bailey was done and Alfie couldnt settle at all! So boys dont always fight! :)
