How else do you get the experience then if you havent worked in PC world, homebase etc before but you have retail experience from clothes shops, the staff have to start somewhere. A freind of mine has apparently handed in his cv for a job at comet and ill ask him if he has any news, he also has retail experience but from a small corner shop but he is into technology0

When does your summer break start? DCFC79 is correct, go put out CV's to all the electrical/computer stores. You might be a bit late for internships, but pop into your Uni's career department and see what they say.
Don't give up, it isn't hopeless. My sister is leaving fashion retail for a dream job with Historic Scotland. This was her third attempt, she's had to work at building her CV each time she failed.
Also, what about the IT department at the University or in a local school? They'll be more sympathetic to your situation.0 -
I think this is what I will keep doing, I will check whether they have jobs at the university, even though IT jobs in schools are not really related to my field(beceuase they are about general IT management) where what I am doing is basically developing softwares, websites etc(ofcourse the knowledge is limited but this is the path I am following).
I wanted to ask one thing if someone can help.
Does anyone know any website or place where I can get names of IT companies in the greater manchester area? recruitment agencies don't show and give name of companies( for an obvious reason), I have checked some directories online which gives a really limited number of industries and don't really show industries in the computing/software engineering area; the reason why I am saying this is because I know a really good company that develops applications for military devices/airport system(a type of field that I really like), this company has its own website but does not appear in any directory through a search engine.
So i was wondering if there is some website that does give companies names, addresses etc.
Thank you0
