Depends on a few issues like the distance you are from the exchange & age of the wiring. If you're on a slow connection at present & move to Sky,then it's doubtful your speed will get any better. So you need to do your research first.0

I'd suggest keeping your line rental with BT, no matter who you use for broadband and calls. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Hi thanks for the reply BT put a new lines up from the outside pole to the side of my house last year and had a new inside line done 3 years ago (don't know if thats long for phone lines though) i'm close to the exchange but have had terrible disruption to my internet with talk talk for the last 3 months:(, had tiscali previously for 7 years without a hitch. with this additional info what do you think about my chances of having a decent connection with sky?:beer:Depends on a few issues like the distance you are from the exchange & age of the wiring. If you're on a slow connection at present & move to Sky,then it's doubtful your speed will get any better. So you need to do your research first.0 -
It wont be any different to what you have now, all the work is done by the same BT Openreach engineers. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Not sure that is necessarily true, penrhyn.
We moved from a BT ADSL package (with Plus.net) to Sky's LLU product and, with nothing else changing in terms of wiring, our connection sync speed went up by over 1.5MB :T0 -
OP, are you talking about Sky LLU or Sky Connect (non-LLU)? 2 very different things. Don't even consider Connect, it's just a resold BT Wholesale product. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sky LLU is an ADSL2+ product so if you were previously on ADSL gains are possible. Sometimes spectacular ones on short lines. We moved from a BT ADSL package (with Plus.net) to Sky's LLU product and, with nothing else changing in terms of wiring, our connection sync speed went up by over 1.5MB :T
Penrhyn was doubtless talking about line quality though not speeds.0 -
thanks for all the replies i have just checked with sky and the broadband is LLU so hopefully that means i should be ok doesn't it?:beer:OP, are you talking about Sky LLU or Sky Connect (non-LLU)? 2 very different things. Don't even consider Connect, it's just a resold BT Wholesale product.0 -
