    just checked, this is from their site

    Cards that contain the cheque guarantee hologram can still be used to guarantee cheques until 30 June 2011. However even if your card still has the cheque guarantee hologram after the scheme closes on 30 June 2011 you can no longer use it to guarantee cheques.

    Their website refers to contactless cards issued by the end of 2010, so they've missed that target!

    Yeah the bank already issue contactless cards but that was only to staff members as part of the trial.

    The bank have not made an annoucements when they will be rolled out to the general public as yet to my knowledge.

    I'm not sure I want one even when they are issued. I'm not convinced about their security.

    It's contactless, you don't need to enter it into a chip and pin machine. Works like the London Oystercard.
