    Open IE, goto TOOLS and MANAGE ADD ONS
    DISABLE the zonealarm and vuse toolbars

    (assuming its IE you use)

    I use Firefox. Done as advised, thanks. Also done in IE.

    Do I have alternatives? I downloaded Kaspersky and yet the laptop shows that I don't have anti virus?

    have you paid for kaspersky?

    you could use avast 6 free, which is lighter.

    Can I uninstall any of the Toshiba progs'?
