HTC Desire storage issue

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have a 8gig card in my htc desire and have downloaded a few video clips to my phone but now it says my memory is full. I'm guessing the clips are downloading to my phone memory rather than the memory card. I have looked in the settings so I can download straight to card but i can't find that option anywhere. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Pete.
I'll get me coat!

    Why guessing?
Settings >> SD & pnone storage

I am not an expert, but what the manual says is:
All downloaded applications are saved to the storage card.
    ...The following are preset albums:
Camera shots lets you view photos and videos that are stored in the camera’s folder.
Photos and videos that you set as your favorites will be grouped under My favorites.
All photos lets you view all photos that are stored in all the folders on the storage card.
All videos lets you view all videos that are stored in all the folders on the storage card.
    ...

Things you download will not touch the internal memory, it's having too many apps that causes you to run out of space, not downloading.

Move some apps to the SD card from within the app settings and see if that helps much.

If all apps are in the internal memory (I see all mine are) could you explain what the following means then: "All downloaded applications are saved to the storage card."? Is 'saved' different from 'installed'? If so do they stay on the SD card after installation?

Yes, it is. When you download something (anything at all) from the browser, it goes to the SD card. When you download and install something from the Market, it does to /data/app on the internal storage. To help with this, you can move applications to the SD card via the settings.

There are a number of apps that can help you move stuff if you wish.

Go to Settings > Applications and then click on downloaded applications and move them all over to the SD card.
