But is that criminal? Tesco said that £100 was the maximum but then issued people with vouchers for in excess of £100? I am sure that anyone using such a voucher could not be prosecuted. Tesco have issued vouchers which, under their terms and conditions, they should not have issued. Tesco's fault not the customers. As I said earlier, I think that the only people who have anything to fear is those who have used the same receipt/voucher on more than one occasion. This could be classed as fraud but people just taking advantage of the offer are not committing ANY crime. By the way, I am not a law expert just trying to think logically.
SIMPLE ANSWER: it's not illegal or criminal to go over the £100 limit. It's up to Tesco to police it.
It's no different to Tesco saying there is a customer limit of 9 on the GW Noodle 3 for 1 offer - and you buying 12.0 -

Research by MoneySavingExpert.com found that some alcohol, laundry products and pet food were cheaper at Asda. For instance, a shop at Tesco that cost £126 would have cost just £81 at Asda, and enabled a shopper to claim a £90 voucher. According the website, one shopper claimed to have made £600.0 -

Can't see the nivea body moisturiser on Asda any more, I also noticed in Tesco the bottle had a slight colour change - no pink bits on the front replaced with white, so might need to be careful with this one.0

Today I have used two large vouchers & neither staff members had seen or even heard of the promotion  So much for Tesco's staff training then, bearing in mind this was not over the week end when they employ a lot of students.
despite the whole place being plastered with posters, no-one in my stores been briefed.. ...and no idea what the policy is...0
