Well what a day!
I have followed this thread in real time all day today, thank goodness I was at work so wasnt wasting my own time:rotfl:
I was expecting an £84 voucher today which got reduced to the £20 and then reinstated to its proper value after the MSE power got it changed.
This promotion ( if you can call it that ) has really been thought up by idiots, ill thought out, ill planned and delivered badly! which by my reckoning is just the way I like tesco promos!
I have done ok out of this, from an initial spend of £60, my return is in treble figures, not far off 4 figures really, nearly all spent now, using cash, no clubcard, different stores, different computers, maybe I can buy an extra freezer on DtD for the extra meat?
Ive been in the tesco game since 2006, and in response to the trolls, yes Ive played this current game to the max, maybe broken a couple of the T&Cs but then havent tesco tried to break more than a couple of their own T&Cs retrospectively?
I was there for R&R for my 9 free Xbox360's at £299.99 a time, plus 3 freezers groaning with meat, multiple mobile phones etc and sheds full of groceries etc. I still have enough health and beauty products for life!. All of which were obtained within the law and tesco's own "price promise"
I was there for the coupons, £11k of free groceries over 2 years, not bad I think. All of which were within the law and tesco's own coupon policy.
I am still there for the occasional DtD on tesco's own products, when they charge me more than the price on the shelf.
I am still there for the current farce, DtD with Asda.
Its a shame really as I have just bottled over 130 bottles of homemade blackberry wine, I now have 30 bottles of bought wine to drink while the other lot ages :rotfl: and I promised myself I wouldnt buy any wine from now on!
For those of you who have been here through all the above, do you know what would be the icing on the cake with regard this promotion?....... to find out that Kevin Kelly was the mastermind behind this promotion! Remember that name?
And to the trolls, yes I shop to the max, I do not break the law, but shop in such a way which has allowed me a new car for free, holidays for free, and enough racks of lamb in the freezer to rebuild a whole flock of sheep!
Tesco are well known for having a lot of staff ( not all ) who do not know policys and a lot of the time, its not their fault due to lack of time available or info not being cascaded down to them.
Competitor spend vouchers are an example, I have, on a number of occasions had to tell the till op to press the coupon button, then comp spend button, which brings up a list of acceptable vouchers and then they can input them.
There is a long running history of till supervisors and especially customer service staff who blantantly lie through their teeth to get out of following a policy which is printed in white ink on a big blue sign behind them!!
Loopholes are exactly that, they are there waiting to be shut down, just make hay while the sun shines.
Thanks to those that have contributed to this thread, with deals, info etc.
Now what to buy to get my next £20 voucher?0 -
If it helps anyone what i did tonight was compare prices on both a and t websites then go shopping for both normal shopping which would be same in both shops and a bit of DTD shopping added on.I spent £25 (using voucher) and paid just £3 cash and hope to get a £15 voucher back.I tried lots of new items which i will report back with tomorrow, all i can use/need and most haven't been mentioned yet.
Decided to use my larger voucher another day, if they don't change their T and c's again that is eek!0 -
we had to find queit corners to go and hide in to do our adding up!!!
still got it all wrong!!!!
what has become of us????:rotfl:
thank god its not just me though!
you made me feel sooo much better! lol!
Same here I couldnt find my receipt to go with my third voucher, stood in a corner got what felt like 50 receipts out my purse to find matching codes, had them all over the place, I just shoved them in the zip bit in my bag (safe of course) and decided to spend that one in the morn....omg the stress is getting to me
forgot to say its been great too as hubby has finally cleared out the garage and all the c@*p off the shelves to make storage space for all this food.....now that is a bonus :jThe art of being happy is to be satisfied with what you have0 -

I cannot believe you registered to bad mouth posters on this, thread. What is on it for you? Who do you think you are suggesting MSE staff remove posts? If anything you should be banned as you have joined purely to bas mouth members, which is,against, the spirit,is MSE.0

Well me and the OH used our last 2 £90 ish vouchers today, one went on a full shop, the other was used to buy us some clothes / other treats. Panicked a bit when the first voucher refused to scan and the SA called over the supervisor who didn't seem phased by the voucher or the amount, same thing happened when using the second voucher, same supervisor came over rang the voucher through as I prayed they didn't recognise us from half an hour earlier (they didn't). We have spent a fair bit in Tesco this week, however, each £1 spent has got us > £3 worth of goods. Will probably get a couple of sub £20 DTD vouchers from today's shopping as well0

Well just been to a large store out of town. Oh and I had a voucher each for 90 ish. Thought we better get something quickly so I got a media player, no prob's for me, explained to sa how to do it and he put it through. Took dd to the car whilst oh finished, he rang to say they wouldn't do it bla bla and could I go back in to verify i'd just done it at another till (Grr big gob) anyway they'd finally put it through when I got back in. He took dd to toilet whilst I went back to the car. On the way out I encountered what can only be described as a swarm of staff (okay, there was only two but they where storming down the walkway, out for blood shouting to one another) 'and he's just bought a satnav with his!' ! So off I run to the car with eldest dd shouting 'did you hear what they just said?' in her broad. Completely different accent to where we are and bringing attention to us. Oh finally got out safetly, I was like 'drive drive!'
don't know what I thought they'd do, but made me feel like a criminal:(
J20 this is by far the funniest post I've read! It's a dangerous world out there at Mr T. Really begining to feel like buyer beware! :rotfl:0 -
