:hello:Hi celebrate like you and others I've had difficulty trying to get items to add up correctly to use a voucher tonight. Had to dash back for yoghurts and cheese. Was made even more challenging as I had to make sure I didn't get anything too bulky or heavy as i was walking back home! Don't know what I looked like to staff. My voucher was scanned through no problem though, this is the first time a manager has not been called or I've not been sent to CS.
  • Dear All, I have had great fun reading this thread over the last few days - I also have some very overpriced Turner Wine sitting in my garage. My wife thinks I have been looking at !!!!!! as I have been staying up late when she has gone to bed - this thread has been more addictive..........................

I nervously shuffled into a Tesco today with a DTD voucher for more than the previous shop not expecting to be able to use it - but thought give it a shot. Sa didn't even blink as she scanned it in...........phew

I then went to see a mate who runs a small NISA supermarket. They are promoting Turner Road from next Monday at £4.40 ish. I know for a fact that they make a reasonable margin still..................... Imagine what sort of margin Tesco must be making on it at £9.99 a bottle with their huge buying power - I am guessing 65% POR (profit on return).

As I left his shop with the sun shining, I realised that:

Do you think a few comments underneath (you have to register) the article may guide the reporter for a re-examination of Tescos claims in relation to todays fiasco?

I think they do look at the comments and if articles get a lot of comments, they get more attention - well they do on our local rag, anyway!

'Someone' ;) has started the ball rolling.
i spoke to the sun today they called me after i emailed them lol she asked if she can quote me lol i said yes pmsl but i cant remember what i said lmao

  • Sorry hit the wrong key........................

    1. DTD has become too addictive
    2. Kids are going to become too used to having premium branded goods in the fridge
    3. Tesco are actually expensive when not on promotion.

Perhaps this £20 DTD voucher limit will be a good thing - a reality check for us all. We have had some fun, now shop sensibly.

    Happy Shopping

Have to say I haven't had any attitude from any of the staff in my local Tesco store.

Its the old hags that are real trout @ any Tesco, they are the most unfriendlies cashiers in any superstores. Their chin's always looks like they are going to drop down to their boobs! maybe because they do not know how to use PC to print out stuff. And are jealous of anyone using vouchers.

Well I am sick of rump steak that's for sure....not something I thought I'd ever say because I love my steak, but usually only have it once a fortnight but had it last night and tonight because it was sooooo yummy, I have 3 more packs in the fridge too  think I will freeze them actually! So steak is off my shopping list! lol

I'm going to do 1 shop to get £20 DTD so I could do with more softner, wedges, spaghetti snap pots......I only used these for the first time tonight and it was just the right amount and no faffing about with a pan, so definitely more of them and the beans. Some philadelphia, deodrant, bagels. Not sure what else.
