  • Hi

Been reading through the earlier posts on this topic and whould appreciate if someone would confirm my understanding of how this works is correct.

    Example

    On the Price Checker
Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur at Tesco is £19.19 at Asda this is £10.00

So if I go tonight and purchase a bottle of the above @ £19.19 and then enter the details of the reciept etc when I return from the shop I will recieve a voucher to spend in tesco for 2 x £9.19 = £18.38 thus making the Baileys £0.81

Is this correct seems a too good to be true or am I missing something?

Also people are talking about the prices changing etc is it normal for the prices to change throughout the day. eg I could go and buy the above and when I get back home the price has changed and I have overpaid by £9.19. Once I enter my reciept details am I guaranteed the DTD. What is the risk?

Sorry for the long mail and novice questions but it all seems a bit too easy unless iam missing something?

    Thanks
    Darren

Watch out I have checked the tesco website and the toffee crisp 5 pack is not on there and the surf is only the yellow top, the price checker is still showing yesterdays date and is still showing the toffee crisps and the other colours of surf. Just wish it would update for today and then off to the shop i go!!!

    Thanks
    Darren

If the price check is not showing today's date then you must go and manually check the prices yourself on Tesco.com and more importantly Asda.com (there has been a discussion today that Baileys may have gone up to £15 on Asda.com
Apart from that, yes, you've got it pretty much spot on.
The risk really comes from Tesco not updating the price check meaning that you are assuming prices haven't changed since the day before as the comparison will be done at the time on your till receipt.
The other risk is that even if you check manually and all looks good, Tesco could have decided that the item is no longer comparable
That has only happened on a few items.

I'd say you were safe. If my vouchers come through in time i'd do the same as you.

Yes, but the comparison on prices won't be done until your items are picked shortly before delivery introducing a large risk of prices changing in between
