This wouldn't have happened OP had done so in the first place. MS provided the facilities, but they weren't used.

Yeah, it should be, I agree there. However, thinking about most websites, Im not sure of any websites where I've input my card details where they've not saved them by default. It's incredibly convenient to have one click purchases and the assumption with the xbox I suppose is that you wont be putting card details in unless it's your account.
That being said, I've never needed to put my card details into the console because the smart moneysaving way to get points is to buy them online, not through ms direct :money:0
