pray tell where does the xbox claim to be fully backwards compatible?
http://forums.xbox.com/36010353/ShowPost.aspxOwed out = lots. :cool:0 -
We've had the xbox 360 since launch date and there was always the proviso that some, possibly most of the most popular original xbox games would be supported on 360, but never ALL of the games. That was one of the arguments as I recall, that the new console was moving away from being a console (self contained, just plug in game and play) and more like a PC in that you needed to download an emulator to play these older games.

It's only a game

OP, just think of all of the chores you son will be doing to cover the £51.
I'm sure once he's completed all of the tasks you set him, he will think twice about doing something similar again.
Hope you get it sorted...0 -
Now, you see, I tend to agree with the OP insofar that Micro$oft should take some responsibility. The consoles are aimed at all ages - but do include children.
As such, the storage of credit card details, albeit for ease of use, should be turned off by default and not on ( as I assume this case proves ? )
I recall Apple iPhones having the same issue with passwords being stored for a finite amount of time after use (10 mins ?) giving the child enough time to run up a bill gaining credits on games apps? (Yes, you can turn this "feature" off, but again, by default, it was on)
Surely the manufacturers realise this and it is bad practice/coding to allow this to happen.
Just my tuppence worth :A“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

But it has the facility to have a parent account (which has the details) and a child account, as OP has now set up.
This wouldn't have happened OP had done so in the first place. MS provided the facilities, but they weren't used.
And as for backward compatibility, that's why I still have an Xbox, ps2 and gamecube connected to my tv, as well as ps3, 360 and wii.
Yknow, just in case.0 -
Sell the Xbox. You get your money back and your son will learn the hard way that its not acceptable to steal/use money that's not his.0

Thats exactly what my other half did with his Sons Xbox when he did exactly the same thing. He is 18 though so obviously knew what he was doing!
Xbox went back to the shop the next day to pay off the money.0 -

Ask his mum for the money? Or sell the xbox like someone else said, you have to be tough otherwise boundaries will never be set. Considering you're on this site, £51 probably isn't spare change to you either.0
