I'm heading to bed shortly. DH is like an excited schoolboy about his birthday trip. It's madness as he is in Manchester all the time for work! Just to underline the point he has to go there on Monday and we are coming home Sunday! He's being very nice and saying he doesn't want our weekend away together to end prematurely. I'm so glad I booked the trains because of all the driving he does. I couldn't bear to think of him driving home from Manchester one day to go to bed and get back in the car to go back again the next day.

Plan for tomorrow is to get up early and put some chicken in the slow cooker for dinner tomorrow night. Then to wash my hair and make myself presentable for our weekend away. Get DS3 and DD2 to school then to forget about them an enjoy myself!

Gosh reading that back it sounds very selfish - I'd better do a dobby and go and iron my hands......

  • Just finished writing my bass arrangement of a Duke Ellington number: In a Sentimental Mood. Chuffed with myself for doing it, but it will only be tested properly at the show on Monday night. Hopefully it will be OK. Had a frantic 5 minutes looking for the lead sheets for the other ones, but found them carefully stashed underneath the settee

The place looks a complete tip, as KH3 came round to pick up some more of his junk and this meant things had to be moved lots. Felt a bit rubbish when he went, as he was on his best behaviour, but recovered myself once I had my bass lesson.

DD breezed in with a happy smile on her face - my instant suspicions of mischief seem to be unfounded though - as she claims she was just in a good mood, partly because she got a level 8 on her PSHEEEEEEEEE (Don't know how many Es there should be on this, they keep adding more each month ), which I think is rather good for an 11 year old not even in the top sets.

Burned the dinner (still not used to an electric fan oven - bring me a built in gas oven now!!) so shot round the kebab shop for chips, came back and fried up some eggs so DD was happy again.

Planning on spending some part of the next 3 days sitting in a launderette with all the bedding being washed and dried. Even with changing covers and the like, it just doesn't feel clean, IYSWIM.

Oh, and have to practice for Monday. And introduce DD's dirty washing to the machine in the kitchen, as it's all come down in one bin bag.

And I need to find a coffee table that isn't stupid money. And a way of covering the armchair to hide the sun bleaching and the cat murdering it.

And the garlic, leeks, and shallots need to be planted.

Oh, bother - and I have the hell that is physio tomorrow. Although at least I have provided the chief physio with a load of songs from my playlist, of which he entirely approves, so at least the music is better in the exercise class now.

    I'm off to my pit.

    Energy? :rotfl:

My obsessions are largely fuelled by caffeine and adrenaline. I have no end of trouble sleeping, anyway, so I may as well try and do something whilst awake.

I shall collapse at a prearranged point in the next 7 days. At present, Tuesday is looking good for general unconsciousness. As long as I can manage to get the washing piles off my bed for long enough to lay down first.
