Foreign object in food item

My child got half way through a chocolate biscuit then showed me some thin strips of wire running through the middle. Obviously I can contact the manufacturer tomorrow but am concerned they might try to apologise then sweep it under the carpet. Who else can I complain to?

The local environmental health would be the place

    Thanks for that.

Also just been told to contact the Food Standards Agency, so my questions are answered now.

    Many thanks.

There's also a case for contacting the company too. It may be that some part of their equipment is "shedding bits". If that's happening in some form of closed environment they may not be aware... not until a customer tells them.

OP said they are contacting the manufacturer tomorrow...

The OP said "can" not "will". So I offered a reason why, regardless of any decision to contact FSA, it would still be a good idea to contact the manufacturer.

I think it's more a case of the op saying "who else can I complain to" rather than saying who else can I contact to help the manufacturer in this situation.
