Virgin Media are getting expensive?

From April 2011, VM are going to pull £35 p/m for - 24hrs phone calling, BB 10MB, and Freeview on TV (basic channels). At the mo I pay £33 p/m. VM have been good to me, and prices are getting much!
Can anyone tell me, how I can get the above and reduce my cost or use a different provider? I have checked talktalk (useless reviews), I haven't checked BT and others yet?
Any advice?

Ditch the TV in favour of Freeview/Freesat - you'll need an aerial and settop box of course. Ditch the phone in favour of Vonage (£5.99) figure £20ish setup. That leaves the BB at £21 standard price with no phone. Not much of a saving over the first year and none at all if you have to get an aerial put up professionally.
I doubt you'll get the 24x7 calls + BB + TV a lot cheaper than standard prices as they don't seem to be offering 10Mbps customers very good deals - they want them to upgrade and spend more.0 -
Just added VM's telephone and 100Mbit broadband to our existing television package (XL with the V+ box) and it's £42.30 for the first 6 months, which rises to £67 for the remainder.
For some crazy reason, it was £2 per month cheaper if we took the telephone as well as the broadband - so that's a second phone line that will never get used.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

I'd forgotten that...
I was looking at Vonage myself but will probably end up sticking with what I've got.0
