Beko WME7247 washing machine £250, no i do not have one, but it did win the Which magazine award. This will probably be my next one as the worn bearings on the current are said to be a pig to fix.

Once you have got your top favourite fridge .prices, pop into Euronics and they may still be able to do a deal. Commet refub shop is quite good too.

buy a drying rack or a line above the bath. most dryers on washers (espacially the condensing ones) are rubbish time wise and expensive to use.

Is it worth looking on Gumtree/Loot? My washer motor went this month didn't want to spend too much like yourself and found a great shop local to me which sold refurbs with a garanteed they fitted it also which saves hassle as my last one which I had bought from new came with option of fit it myself or pay extra for them to do it

Thank you everyone. I'm taking in your advice and will come back when I have thought about them and hopefully I will find something soon.

    Any cheap cooker/oven advice?

Have good think about how you normally cook. Instead of the standard cooker you could maybe get a Halogen oven (like this http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/P~149583~Nuo+Halogen+Oven) and maybe a single electric hob (which you can get for less than £20).)Or an electric steamer.
